After installing AutoCAD 2010, desktop icons not loading and taskbar not working

Update Time: 2023-07-21 11:53:40

Problem phenomenon:

After installing AutoCAD 2010, the computer's boot process is relatively slow. After entering the system, the desktop icons cannot be loaded, the icons turn white, the screen goes black, and then becomes normal again. This process may be repeated several times until the desktop icons display normally. Right-click on the taskbar and turn around, it cannot be used, and the screen will flash after several clicks (actually, explorer restarts), and the screen may or may not be restored after the flash.

Problem causes:

AutoCAD 2010 is not compatible with Windows systems.

Solution:

1. According to the official introduction of AutoCAD, it is recommended that you install and use AutoCAD 2016 or later. You can refer to the system requirements of each version of AutoCAD: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-AutoCAD.html

2. If you still need to use the AutoCAD 2010 version, you can delete the C:\windows\system32\ AcSignIcon.dll file to solve the above problems, but deleting this dll file may affect some functions of CAD.

If your desktop icons and taskbar are not loading after installing AutoCAD 2010, here are a few things you can do to troubleshoot the issue:

    • A corrupted file. It is possible that a file associated with your desktop icons or taskbar was corrupted during the installation of AutoCAD 2010. This can cause the icons and taskbar not to load properly.

    • A conflicting program. It is also possible that another program is conflicting with AutoCAD 2010, which is causing the icons and taskbar not to load properly.

    • A driver issue. It is also possible that a driver for your graphics card or other hardware is not installed correctly, which is causing the icons and taskbar not to load properly.

If your desktop icons and taskbar are not loading after installing AutoCAD 2010, here are a few things you can do to troubleshoot the issue:

    • Restart your computer. This will often fix temporary issues with your desktop icons and taskbar.

    • Reinstall AutoCAD 2010. This may fix the issue if a corrupted file is causing the problem.

    • Disable any third-party programs that you are not using. This may help to identify a conflicting program that is causing the issue.

    • Update your graphics card drivers. This may fix the issue if a driver issue is causing the problem.
