Problem phenomenon:
A "PIN is required to log in" prompt appears on the Windows 10 login screen.
Problem causes:
This is set by the Windows system specification to protect the system security and prevent malicious intrusion into the system. Before each successful unlock, the system will only recognize the fingerprint three times. If the three times fail, the system will not allow the use of fingerprint unlocking and will prompt to use the PIN code or account password.
Solution:
1. When you use the fingerprint to unlock, please confirm the location of the notebook fingerprint recognition and the fingers to be recognized, and that there are no water stains, sweat stains, and other foreign objects.
2. After setting the fingerprint, please remember the Microsoft account password and the PIN code that Windows prompts you to set.
3. Please use a PIN code or Microsoft account password to unlock. After unlocking successfully and entering the system, the fingerprint function will return to normal.
Note:
1. If you forget the PIN code and Microsoft account password, please refer to the following methods to reset:
(1) Please confirm that the computer is connected to a network that can access the Internet on the login interface, and then click "I forgot my PIN".
(2) Verify your Microsoft account password, as shown below:
(3) If your Microsoft account has a phone number, etc., please choose to send a text message to the phone number. Before sending a text message, you need to verify the last four digits of your phone number.
(4) Enter the verification code received by your bound mobile phone number, and then click "Verify".
(5) After the verification is successful, there will be a confirmation prompt to reset the PIN, please click Continue.
(6) Then follow the prompts to enter a new PIN. After the setting is completed, click OK to enter the system, and you can use the newly set PIN to log in to the system.
2. If you do not log in to the Microsoft account and use the fingerprint and PIN code set under the local account, you need to reset the system and restore the factory settings. Please refer to the following methods to reset:
Note: System reset to the factory will delete the data in the C drive (including desktop files, downloads, documents, etc.) and the software installed in the C drive, please always back up your personal data. And the software installed on the C drive needs to be reinstalled, and that the software installed on the non-system drive (such as the D drive, E drive, etc.) whether needs to be reinstalled depends on the characteristics of the software itself.
