There are many factors that cause the screen brightness to fail to adjust automatically. Please try the following methods to troubleshoot:
1. Please confirm whether turn on the Auto brightness
Please enter the phone Settings > Display & brightness > Auto brightness. If it is not enabled, the screen brightness cannot be adjusted automatically.
2. Please try to turn on the Auto brightness again
Please turn off the Auto brightness and turn it on again. If you manually drag the brightness bar in the Auto brightness, the system will record the drag position as your preference. When the ambient light changes, the system will adjust the brightness according to your preference. Therefore, the screen brightness is close to the brightness you manually adjusted, and turning the automatic switch back on which will clear the history records of your preferences.
3. Please confirm whether the brightness has been adjusted in third-party applications
Please confirm whether you have adjusted the brightness in third-party applications (videos, browsers, games, etc.). It is recommended that you exit the third-party application and try again. After adjusting the brightness in a third-party application, the brightness control permission will be temporarily acquired by the third-party application, so the screen brightness will not change with the ambient light.
4. Please confirm whether ambient light sensor is blocked by foreign objects
Please confirm whether there is any foreign object on the top of the phone (such as oil stains, water stains, film, protective case, etc.). It is recommended that you wipe the top of the phone screen with a clean paper towel or cotton cloth to ensure that the screen is clean.
5. Please confirm whether there is a colored protective film on the phone
If your phone has a tinted protective film that blocks the ambient light sensor, the screen brightness may not be adjusted or it may remain dimmed.
6. Please confirm that the phone system version is the latest official system version
If your phone version is not the latest official version, it is recommended that you back up your phone data in advance, restore or upgrade to the latest official system version.
7. Please confirm whether there is BL unlock
If you have BL unlocked, unlocking may cause abnormal system functions. Please back up your data in advance, bring your purchase certificate, and go to the realme service center to flash to the official system.
