How to deal with flickering screen issue on realme devices

Update Time: 2024-10-24 18:23:34

Causes:

1. When the phone/pad is in auto brightness adjustment and the screen is dark, fingerprint unlock under the screen requires high brightness which will cause brightness changes too quickly, it may flicker.

2. DC dimming involves instantaneous changes in screen brightness, content, and effects. So the phone/pad screen may flicker when brightness changes. (Such as in-display fingerprint unlocking, screen off).

3. If the eye comfort mode is turned on when the phone is unlocked with a fingerprint, the eye comfort mode will not work temporarily in order to correctly identify the fingerprint for unlocking. The switching process may cause changes in the color and brightness of the screen.

4. When playing a video, the video format may not be compatible with the player and the screen may flicker.

5. If the phone/pad screen flickers when using a specific app, it may be that the app is abnormal.

6. If the developer options settings are modified or the settings is temporarily abnormal, the phone/pad screen will flicker.

Solutions:

1. Please manually adjust the brightness, use your fingerprint to unlock in a well-lit environment, or use a password to unlock, so that the brightness changes smoothly during the unlocking process and reduces the flickering of the screen.

2. Switch on and off the DC dimming to see if the flickering is improved.

DC dimming setting path:

Settings > realme lab > DC dimming (low light without flickering eye comfort) or Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > DC dimming

3. This is a normal phenomenon, please use it normally.

4. Try to change the video format or use another player to play videos.

5. Uninstall it (if you have important data, please back it up first), and then download the latest version in Play Store before using it.

6. Please turn off the developer settings or search Reset system settings in the settings search bar and reset them to try again.

Path: Setting > System/Additional setting > Developer option >  Disable the Developer option
