I. After turning on the personal hotspot, other devices cannot search
1. Change the hotspot AP band to 2.4 GHz.
realme UI 1.0 and above versions: Pull down the notification bar > long-press Personal Hotspot > Personal Hotspot Settings > AP band > select 2.4 GHz.
realme UI R & Go & S & T & U Edition: Pull down the notification bar > long-press Hotspot > Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings > AP band > select 2.4 GHz.
After changing the frequency band, switch the hotspot again and try to find whether it can be found.
2. Your personal hotspot is currently hidden. It is recommended that you set it up as follows.
realme UI 1.0 and above versions: Pull down the notification bar > Long press on personal hotspot > Hotspot settings > Disable Hide hotspot.
realme UI R & Go & S & T & U Edition: Not supported
3. Try using other devices to see if the hotspot can be searched. And if you add the device to the blocklist, please remove the device from the blocklist.
realme UI 1.0 & above versions: Settings > Search "Personal Hotspot" > Personal Hotspot > Connection Management > Blocklist
realme UI R & S & T & Go & U Edition: Settings > Network & internet > Hotspot & tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot page > Blocklist
4. Please reset the Network settings to try.
realme UI 2.0 & above versions: Settings > Search "Reset Network settings" > Reset Network settings/Reset Network settings only.
realme UI R & Go & S & T & U Edition: Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
II. After turning on the personal hotspot, other devices cannot connect
1. It is recommended that you move the connecting device closer to the personal hotspot device and try to connect in a place with a better hotspot signal.
2. If you use data traffic to surf the Internet, please confirm whether the data service is normal. If it is normal, please turn off the personal hotspot and turn it on again.
3. It is recommended that you pull down the notification bar > press and hold the personal hotspot > click the "Hotspot settings" to modify the hotspot name. It is recommended to set the hotspot name to a combination of English and numbers and try to avoid using special characters.
4. Change the hotspot AP band to 2.4 GHz. The operation steps: pull down the notification bar > long-press Personal Hotspot > Personal Hotspot Settings > AP band > select 2.4 GHz. After changing the frequency band, switch the hotspot again and try to find whether it can be found.
5. Check whether the following related configurations are correct.
Pull down the notification bar > long-press Personal Hotspot > Connection Management, and perform the following operations:
Click "Blocklist". Remove the device that needs to be connected from the blocklist. Set the maximum allowed connections. If you set a small number of connectable devices, other devices may not be able to connect to your hotspot. It is recommended to set the maximum allowed connections to 10.
Check whether set the Data restriction. After setting, if the data used by the connected device reaches the upper limit, the data network cannot be obtained from the terminal. It is recommended that you set it to unlimited.
6. Please switch Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the connected device and try again.
7. It is recommended that you reset the network settings. The operation steps are as followings:
realme UI 2.0 & above versions: Settings > Search "Reset Network settings" > Reset Network settings/Reset Network settings only.
realme UI R & Go & S & T & U Edition: Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
III. After turning on the personal hotspot, other devices cannot access the Internet
1. Please ensure that the phone can access the Internet normally after the data traffic is turned on, and the hotspot function cannot be used normally when the phone itself cannot access the Internet.
2. Please try to turn off the personal hotspot, and then turn it on again to see if other devices can connect to the Internet normally. Reset both devices and try to see if the function can be used normally.
3. The mobile data of some operators do not support hotspot sharing, so you need to activate the hotspot service separately. It is recommended that you consult the local operator to confirm whether it supports hotspot sharing.
4. It is recommended that you delete the existing VPN and try again. Go to Settings > Connection and Sharing > VPN, and delete the VPN.
5. It is recommended that you reset the network settings. The operation steps:
realme UI 2.0 & above versions: Settings > Search "Reset Network settings" > Reset Network settings/Reset Network settings only.
realme UI R & Go & S & T & U Edition: Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
IV. Other devices are frequently disconnected from the network while using the hotspot
1. Please turn off the personal hotspot, and then turn on the hotspot again to see if other devices are still disconnected from the Internet frequently. Or restart both devices and try to see if the function can be used normally.
2. There is an electromagnetic interference source near the device, or the connected device is far away from the hotspot signal, which may lead to disconnection of the network. It is recommended that you move the location to check whether this phenomenon still occurs.
3. When the data used through the hotspot reaches the set data limit, the phone will automatically disconnect the sharing. It is recommended that you pull down the notification bar > long-press Personal Hotspot > Connection Management > Data restriction and change the data restriction to unrestricted.
4. If the device disconnects from the Internet when the phone is used for a long time or there is no data interaction, it is recommended that you do the following operations. Pull down the notification bar > click the personal hotspot > turn off Automatically turn off personal hotspot when idle.
5. It is recommended that you reset the network settings. The operation steps:
realme UI 2.0 & above versions: Settings > Search "Reset Network settings" > Reset Network settings/Reset Network settings only.
realme UI R & Go & S & T & U Edition: Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
V. Can't find personal hotspot switch
realme UI 2.0 & above versions: Settings > Connection & sharing > Turn on Personal Hotspot.
realme UI 1.0: Settings > Other wireless connections > Turn on Personal Hotspot.
realme UI R & Go & S & T & U Edition: Settings > Network & internet > Hotspot & tethering > Turn on Wi-Fi Hotspot.
If the personal hotspot is not found according to this path, the phone may be in guest mode or another user. Check the path: Settings > Users and Accounts > Multiple users. If the current user is in guest or other user modes, the personal hotspot cannot be enabled.
If the above methods do not solve your problem, it is recommended that you bring your purchase certificate and visit the realme customer service center.
