It's common for phones to heat up, particularly in warm weather like summer. At realme, we have integrated unique power-saving technology and thermal shutdown circuits in our phones to safeguard your device as much as possible. Therefore, there's no need to worry if your phone gets warm during use.
Reasons for Phone Heating
Unlike computers and other devices with fans for heat dissipation, phones rely on dispersing heat through their bodies when in operation. Components such as the processor, memory, and battery generate heat that is released outward, causing the device to heat up while in use.
Factors contributing to your smartphone overheating may include:
1. Exposure to direct sunlight or a hot environment.
2. Running or downloading multiple apps simultaneously.
3. Prolonged gaming sessions.
4. Use of a poor-quality charging cable or adapter.
5. Operating in areas with poor network connectivity.
6. High display brightness settings.
7. Prolonged connectivity with Bluetooth devices.
Tips and Troubleshooting for Overheating realme Phones
I. Daily Use Optimization Tips:
1. It's best to keep your phone away from high temperatures and direct sunlight. It's normal for the phone to warm up in temperatures exceeding 35°C (95°F). Operate your device within the range of 16℃~35℃ (61°F~95°F) to ensure performance and longevity.
2. Place your phone in a cool area and avoid surfaces that trap heat, like quilts or blankets.
3. Minimize usage during charging or downloading activities to prevent additional heat generation.
4. Always use the original charger that came with the phone for best results.
II. Additional Settings and Troubleshooting Steps:
1. Clear Background Apps
Regularly clear unused background apps to decrease power consumption and overheating. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access and clear background apps.
2. Disable wireless connections:
Turn off other wireless connections such as mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and other connections when not in use. Go to your phone's Control Center by tapping and sliding down from the top of your phone's screen > Disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Location.
3. Adjust Screen Brightness
Lower screen brightness and disable Auto-Brightness in Settings > Display & Brightness to reduce heat emission.
4. Restart Your Phone
Restart your phone weekly to address any irregularities, including heating issues.
5. Run a Diagnostic Test
Use the Phone Manager app to run diagnostics and identify any performance issues that could be causing overheating. You can also optimize the device usage and check for other component failures that might cause heating of the device.
realme UI 5.0 & 4.0: Phone Manager > Tool > Diagnostics or Phone Manager > Tap on︙on the top right corner > Diagnostics.
realme UI 3.0: Phone Manager > Tool > Diagnostics.
realme UI 2.0: Phone Manager > Diagnostics.
