Phone cannot search WiFi

Update Time: 2024-10-24 12:03:30

I. No Wi-Fi hotspots can be searched

Causes:

The mobile's Wi-Fi module is abnormal.

Solution:

1. Please re-enable Wi-Fi on your phone and try again.

2. It is recommended that you reset the network settings.

  • realme UI 3.0 & above versionsSettings > Additional/System Settings > Backup & reset > Reset phone > Reset Network settings.

  • realme UI 2.0: Settings > Additional Settings > Backup & reset > Erase all Data > Reset Network settings only.

  • realme UI S & T & R & Go & U Edition: Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.

If none of the above methods can solve your problem, please back up your phone data and bring your purchase certificate to the nearest authorized realme service center for further assistance.

II. A specific Wi-Fi hotspot cannot be searched

Causes:

1. The hotspot name (SSID) may be hidden.

2. The Wi-Fi band selected by the phone does not match the hotspot band.

3. If you are using a non-local edition of your phone, you may not be able to search for Wi-Fi due to the different Wi-Fi channels used in different countries.

4. If you use a third-party app to search for hotspots, the app needs to get your location when searching for hotspots. If there is a hotspot nearby but it says it can't search for it, it means the app didn't get the location of your phone.

5. If you use a third-party app to search for hotspots, check whether the Wi-Fi hotspot can be found on your phone's Wi-Fi settings screen. If the phone system can search for Wi-Fi but the third-party app cannot, then the third-party app may be abnormal.

Solution:

1. Enable the hotspot manually or disable the SSID hiding feature of the router.

2. Please check if the Wi-Fi band selected by your phone is the same as the hotspot band.

realme UI 1.0 & above versions: Settings > Connection & sharing > Personal hotspot > Hotspot settings > AP band.

realme UI S & T & R & Go & U Edition: Settings > Network & internet Hotspot & tethering Wi-Fi hotspot > AP band

If your phone only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, it cannot detect a 5 GHz Wi-Fi hotspot. In this case, set the frequency band of your phone to 2.4 GHz and try again. Contact the router administrator for assistance if needed.

Note: If the Auto-switch or Prioritize 5 GHz feature is enabled on the router and only 5 GHz Wi-Fi hotspots are available, disable this feature. You should now be able to find two types of hotspot names with their only difference being in the suffix (such as realme-XXXXXX for a 2.4 GHz hotspot and realme-XXXXXX_5G for a 5 GHz hotspot). You can connect to either of them based on your requirements.

3. Insert the local SIM card to register with the local network and then try searching for hotspots.

4. Turn on the switch for location information on your phone and check if the app you are using has location permissions.

5. Update the app from the app market or use another app of the same type.

6. Please restart the phone and try to connect again.

If none of the above methods can solve your problem, please back up your phone data and bring your purchase certificate to the nearest authorized realme service center for further assistance.
